Terrence has rejoined the movement as he graduated from Buffalo and now is ready to take his acting skills to new heights. I on the other hand is slaving like a mad-man as I took on two jobs to fund and support this dream..but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do right..?? Been In Hiding But We Still Stacking Those Pancakes...

Hey everybody, I know its been sometime since our last post but throughout it all we appreciate the support and also the suggestions and comments keep sending the love (and hate..lol). Well anyway, I wanted to just say that plans are still going according to schedule and progress is definitely being made as far as the direction this company is aiming to go. Here at CustomPrince we just want to make things right, so when you view it..it has quality behind the name and right now that's something we just can't rush. Throughout this whole process I think that's the one thing I hate, is when people suggest things that's beyond them. The comments like "Well why don't you do this instead of that.." look people with minor experience in actually running a business if i did it your way I would probably be homeless..lol..not homeless but obviously you have no idea what your talking about "person that has a couple of business classes under your belt and is not making over 50,000 a year", yeah thanks. All in all its a process and its not easy by no means, when this blog started we had nothing and now a little buzz but still have far to go. So people we just ask for you to stay tuned so we can give you quality entertainment until next time keep hitting us up with feedback and I'm out...

Hey, Everybody things are getting a little stressful as we approach our date in recording our promotional videos but for the most part its nothing we can't handle. So basically I have some announcements...First, if you're somebody that is interested in being in any videos then make sure you hit us up at (customprinceprod@gmail.com) and you should include what do you do (Actor, Musician, etc.) and also a pic...(hey what can I say it helps..lol). Second, I wanted to say shout outs to "JB Brown" for (LOL Thursdays) at Club Venu. I definitely enjoyed myself and had plenty of laughs. He's holding an event tonight (Sunday March 15, 2009 in the Rochester, NY) so if you want to laugh and have nothing to do, I say check it out. Again that's the "Kings Of Roc" Comedy Tour at 204 N. Water Street show starts at 7:00 pm (dress to impress). That's enough for us but keep getting at us and we'll do the same so till next time everybody I'm out...

Thinking About Our Demographic....

Hey everybody, just wanted to keep everybody informed as far as our day-to-day as we approach closer to recording our promotional videos. Now that the blog has reached some of you and these videos while showcasing our talent (in front-of and also behind the camera) will take care of those who need more to justify what the hell we actually do. It's funny, talking to a friend a while back (IMAKEMADBEATS.COM) he felt that making this blog would ease the tension of networking and also give people the idea that they can follow our journey and hopefully get their own ideas and start they're own thing if need to. At first I was so against it and I said that maybe we should do a blog after everything is established but after some convincing it prompted me to do things now in order to gather people who were just interested in what this is actually gonna become. A lot of times when we're interested in a movie star or figure that exudes greatness somehow, we always try to go back and find out what was their story and how did they get here. With CustomPrince we don't wanna go back by any means; we wanna move forward. So for those who found some of these entries as a release of some sort thank you because most of the time I feel like, who actually listens to anybody if they're not in the top spot. By "you" listening and reading these entries you make our lives feel that much greater because our message or words isn't being disregarded (for the ones that try to skim instead reading these entries then ask me a question that was clearly identified on the blog I highlighted this part just for you....STOP WASTING OUR TIME by asking me these stupid questions you clearly don't read the blog, I know, its okay).

I'ma have to say right now that lately I haven't been in the blogging mood of as late so with this entry I intend to make up for a couple of my last entries (so if this gets too long for you then..I dunno...deal with it). So basically one of the things I'm trying to get across to the public is that we're an actual Production Company with the hopes to make our own films, videos, and documentaries. Tell the stories we want to tell and make our own mark on entertainment. First I want to say that if anybody has been offended or taken back any images that's been on this blog so far like any references to alcohol in some of the pictures, then I apologize. I figure that with some shock value we could get people interested and also have them laughing (I thought it was funny but for some others I guess not). I was asked several times what's our demographic and who are we trying to directly speak to. To be honest, that's always been a complicated question to me because as somebody that is basically invisible to the entertainment industry "you want to be noticed", as I gave it more thought then I figured that the (18-30) range is a better basis for our clientele because as far as any age group they are the ones that are making the strides to be heard and finding the information to educate themselves, its them. Although they are always exception to any age range but that range is an important one for us. All in all we don't want to downgrade any potential client at any other age group so as long as we get to work on a project we would like to work with anyone. So if that's you..."I mean you" who sees yourself trying to take your career to that next level and you don't know how to...then drop us a line..we'll love to work with anyone that's serious about their craft. This goes for all musicians, actors/actresses, anyone associated with production (behind-the-scenes) if your talented and want to show that off then there's no reason in holding back (customprinceprod@gmail.com).

With that said I mentioned before that we're going to be shooting promotional videos to greater further our ourselves for the public. I won't go into much detail about all the videos but we figure that 5 to 10 videos would be enough to get some type of interest from people. Theses videos will be a combination of things including (songs that have never been made into a video, commercials, and shorts) all included with behind-the-scenes footage of how it all became possible. We have ideas for some possible ones but we would love suggestions (you will be credited) and also we want anybody that is interested in being in these videos to get in contact with either me (Greg Jackson) or Terrence Prince so we can figure where to place you, its important (customprinceprod@gmail.com). Hey everybody, just wanted to say thanks again for the continued support and gratitude over this experience. Its been trying at times but with each day, we're learning more and more and also we're finding out the difference between being a winner and a loser. See, for quite some time we've humbled ourselves because instead of showing off in the end, we wanted to include you (the people) from the beginning. Some took to that and said, "hey these guys are on to something", others said, "ehhh not really my style.." (I can respect that but what I can't respect are those who don't even give us a chance) for the ones who feel that this is too much to look at or worth checking out, all I can say is "sorry that you feel that way and much continued success towards the future". Hey Everybody, just been busy trying to get everything in order for you..the people, so bear with us and remain patient. I know we've set a deadline to have videos to be up and running by April and that's what we intend to do in-fact by the week of the 12th to be specific. We've been grinding over here and for all who spoke to either me (Greg) or Terrence about what's been going on and what's happening as far as "CustomPrince" or just general questions we appreciate it thanks, you make it worthwhile. I talked to Terrence earlier and he wanted to make sure I describe the process of what we actually go through on a day-to-day basis for anyone who feels that they need to make a sacrifice in order to find their own happiness. I can tell you now, the road is definitely not easy but if you think that its worth it, then it probably is.

For many that know us this company probably could've been done a long time ago but we're not complaining we were in a different frame of mind back then and with that it only prepare us for our time now. I realize when I talk to people who know me or even to those who don't when I share with them ours plans and all the plans we have to come they take it as genuine or something real and not bullsh*t. I appreciate it, I know I heard a million stories constantly from people in the past and wasn't so optimistic. Anyway, Terrence wanted to describe just the dedication and focus you have to have to do anything responsible it doesn't necessarily have to be establishing a business. We personally were in the position to begin this nearly a year ago but he was in Buffalo and I was in Long Island finishing school and just the stress overwhelmed both of us. Also the distractions (but hey, its college..lol) so while I'm done with school I'm sort of holding the fort down while he finishes up in May. While he's finishing, he's been steadily working on his craft as an actor to show you that he has what it takes to follow some of the greats. He's participated in poetry readings and his play "The Visit" has been a good experience for him. Hey Everybody, Just wanted to reiterate to everyone that CustomPrince appreciates the love and some of the hate..lol..I guess you gotta have that balance. The buzz is growing and the comments and suggestions have been helpful, so thanks. To basically state what we're all about WE ARE A PRODUCTION COMPANY!!!!....We're not professional bloggers, not two idiots that's trying waste your time and definitely NOT I repeat NOT!! A Camera Crew (so that means don't hit us up for paid assignments of treatments that you want us to do and we can't have any input on the assignment, believe me we're wasting each others time). So for you that wasn't here for the beginning of this experience for us we apologize.

We're a Production Company in its beginning stages (business-wise) that is displaying each obstacle and also each goal met through blog entries. I could go over the whole thing again but I blogged about it already (its the first entry under "Brief Bio"). Oh, hey everybody...lol...I definitely was laughing at the shirt my man TPrince is rocking but just like how that shirt is referring to his "love stick"(pause) its also funny when I read some of the comments posted today. As we (at CustomPrince) are were really against blogs in general at this time we felt it was necessary to "inform" those of what we were trying to do and also a step-by-step process of why we're doing it. Again I say "we are not setting the bar on blogs" and like many networking tools this is just an extension of that. Blogs in general only are opinionated views on many topics that clearly "are not interesting and only speak from a general point of view". We on the other hand try to stay away from that and direct our information and experiences to "you" because hey "you matter to us". So if you need us to entertain while sharing a piece of our lives, so be it. We're not the the news nor teachers or whoever else that tells you an opinion and tries to persuade you to go into a direction that is really up to you anyway. I just wanna speak to everybody for a minute and be real while I have the floor, first I want to say that nobody is perfect by no means and with that If I (Greg Jackson) has ever been sh*tty towards you and we haven't resolve things then I apologize. It doesn't hurt saying that and I know i can be a handful "ain't that right, Prince...lol". So I figure i take a quick time-out from all this promotion (hit us at, twitter.com/customprince) and networking and talk to everbody on the importance of working together, because without yall, we're nothing its simple.

I had a "friend" (IMAKEMADBEATS.com) that made me realize that regardless of what current state I'm in personally, people are always watching. What I mean by that is that a lot of friends in the past (I'd say 3 years) have either faded away or communication has been broken somehow. I initially thought that this was normal, you have a friend and as life goes on you move on. Apparently it doesn't work that way. While we were talking, I realized that some important people were out of my life because basically "I'm prideful" or something happen where both parties couldn't be the the bigger person. So I'm making a plea and saying that if that was you or if you hate my guts "I'm sorry". If you were a girl on the other-hand, in the club and you were man-handled by T.Prince....(www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31137326&op=3&o=global&view=global&subj=70606661&id=70609184)...then I can't help you with that..lol

Getting Starting... (Brief Bio)

Well Hello Everybody, from everybody working with and also who supports CustomPrince we (Greg and Terrence) definitely want to say thank you. Since I'm new at this, I'm just going to start with the whole idea of how things actually got started for us and this idea of CustomPrince as a Production Company.

Being always interested in some form of media both Terrence and I both endured are fair share of trails and tribulations since first meeting back in 2003. During that time we often shared similarities in attracting people to be entertained by us and also finding out we had an a ability to entertain people. We often played with the idea of forming a production company, really the initial idea was to start a "hypeman" service included with website and all (wow, now that I think about that idea it was really stupid) and it we were supposed to train others in "the art of hypeness, I don't know. Anyway, from our times of club-hopping, (in which anybody who knows us knows that we party and party hard) going on roadtrips (which has led to some of the memorable but funny stories ever told) and then going away to school sort of solidify's are need to pursue the entertainment industry.

The name CustomPrince which is really a name that was already brewing for years, and just fell in our lap. For those of you who know me (Greg Jackson, had to say it..lol (inside joke)) know that I have several loves 1. music (I LOVE MUSIC...really all kinds) 2. is alcohol (I would go into detail but not today) and 3. is my love for clothing and the ability to have my own style and (I briefly designed clothes and was a stylist to a few people) So Really the name CustomPrince really loosely means (Greg and Terrence). The Prince part is simple (Terrence's last name) but Custom has a story to it. We were in Buffalo on a road trip and I had some kind of outfit on and he said " you got the hot outfits yo, you always got some theme going on you know what.....you Custom yo, yeah..(laughs) Custom G, that's what I'ma call you. So for years it stuck and we decided that would be the name if we ever formed a production company.

Fast-forwarding towards the summer of 2008 both of our lives seem to take some tough times like anybody else's (not trying to be funny) but what happens when the person you rely on feels like giving up? I think in many ways we were down and we went to the people that we relied on to be positive and they weren't which made us even more depressed. So we had to rely on each other to remain positive (also their were key people in our lives who depended on us so there couldn't be any failure of any kind) The summer of 2008 was key to both of us because we both realized that nothing "so great" is ever handed to you, you have to go out and get it. So during the fall as as school was in session for both of us Terrence (at the University of Buffalo) began to hone his craft of acting by being participating in workshops, plays, and poetry sessions and myself (Greg) (at SUNY College at Old Westbury) became interested in more behind-the-scenes stuff (camera work and editing especially). Together we figured out that with all the negativity that surrounds our simple lives we can at least enjoy ourselves by living our dreams. Icons that are being looked up today are people who are recognized by "living their lives to the fullest" but people don't realize the amount of work and responsibility that goes into achieving that.

Since recently completing school, I've realized it and its hard; not the "real world" but the idea of just living out the definition of a "grown-up" which embodies work and responsibility but with goal of happiness at the end of the day. It's coming, while we continue this journey I'll be briefing those who are interested. To tell the truth I didn't want to actually write this much but when I mention to people "starting a business" or "production company" people underestimate or get curious or just wonder, where did this come from? Well, that's an even longer story and I just tried to shortened most of it. So stay tuned, hit us up and I'm out...
